We are constantly evaluating and assessing our operations, in order to ensure our products are as environmentally friendly as possible.

We are moving our wines into lightweight glass bottles in order to lower our carbon footprint, and are the world leader in Tetra-Pak technology, which is the most environmentally efficient packing used in wine production. As well as being easy to transport, easy to open and ensuring consistent quality, Tetra-Pak packaging offers a number of environmental benefits, including:

Lightweight – Tetra-Pak cartons are extremely lightweight in comparison to traditional glass bottles, - packing 1 million litres of wine in a 75cl Tetra-Pak can save up to 463 tonnes of packaging.
Transport Efficient – Tetra-Pak is transport efficient, both before and after filling. They are lightweight and space efficient, meaning fewer trucks on the road, and less carbon emissions. For example, it takes 25 lorries to transport the same number of empty glass bottles compared to just one lorry for the same number of empty Tetra-Pak cartons.

Recyclable – Tetra-Pak is 100% recyclable, making it the perfect choice for the environmentally conscious consumer.

Renewable – Tetra-Pak is made from sustainable and renewable resources – wood – and we are committed to ensuring the forests we source from are responsibly mangaged. From early 2010, packaging used for our market leading Tavernello brand has been certified according to the stringent Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) regulations.
