In 1966, a collection of small independent Italian wine growers joined forces to share their passion, knowledge and skills with the aim of highlighting the quality of their wines to the world.

From these beginnings, the Caviro Co-operative was founded.

Today, Caviro is the leading Italian wine Co-operative consisting of 36 partner wineries and over 18,000 wine growers from throughout the leading wine regions of Italy.

Accounting for 10 per cent of the total Italian annual production and with an annual turnover in excess €280M, our supply capabilities extend to some of Italy’s most highly regarded wine regions. Through our vast network of growers, Caviro sources from 5.2 per cent of Italy’s total vineyard area.

We are a cooperative in every sense of the word, championing the small individual wine-growing families that are the driving force behind Italian wine.

Caviro has 18,177 growers, each passionate about the quality of grapes they grow - for most of them the vineyards have been in the family for generations. Caviro employs the expertise of these individual wine-growing families, and in turn offers its expertise to ensure that these wines are marketed, distributed and sold in a way that offers a great return for the producer and a relevant product for the consumer market.

Our approach is holistic – encompassing a fully integrated wine business model that extends to vineyards, partner wineries, boutique and bulk wine production, packaging, marketing and brand building.

Based in Faenza in the Emilia Romagna region of northwest Italy, Caviro is the driving force behind evolution and growth in the Italian wine industry.

Our broad product portfolio ranges from private own-label wines, commercial volume brands and boutique premium wines through to alternative packaging solutions such as the market leading Tetra-Pak brand Tavernello.
