Which cookies are used in this website?
The cookies used in this website are technical cookies. These are essential to guarantee smooth navigation of the website.
The website also allows the use of Google Analytics, a third party cookie (not managed by Caviro) that provides an analysis of the browsing behaviour of the users on the site in an anonymous and aggregated form. To learn more about Google Analytics you can find the Google policy at the following address: http://www.google.it/policies/privacy/partners/
No profiling cookies are placed on this website.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that are downloaded to the user’s device (be it a pc, a notebook, a smartphone, a tablet – they are generally kept directly on the browser used) when visiting a website. The same website that sends them can then read and register the cookies that are placed on the device to obtain a variety of information.
How many types of cookies exist?
There are essentially two main categories, with different features in each:
technical cookies and profiling cookies
Technical cookies are necessary to allow the correct running and navigation of the website. Without them the user would not be able to view the pages or use some features properly. For example, a technical cookie is essential to keep a user logged on throughout his visit to a website or to store the language, viewing and other settings. Technical cookies can also be divided as follows: navigation cookies that guarantee normal website navigation and use (allowing, for example, a purchase or the logging on to reserved access areas); analytics cookies, considered as technical cookies only when used to gather information in aggregated form, of the number of viewers and the way they surf the site; functionality cookies, that enable the user to surf according to certain selected criteria (for example, the language or the products selected for purchase) with the aim of improving the website’s performance.
Profiling cookies create a user’s profile and are normally used to send adverts reflecting the preferences expressed by the user whilst surfing the web.
Cookies can also be classified as:
session cookies – cancelled upon closure of the navigation browser (for example Internet Explorer, Safari, Google Chrome, etc.)
persistent cookies – different from the session cookies, remain within a browser for a certain period of time. They are used, for example, to recognize the device that is connecting to the website in order to ease the user’s logging-on process.
First-party cookies – created and managed directly by the operator of the website that is being browsed by the user.
Third-party cookies – created and managed by parties other than the operator of the website that is being browsed by the user (normally in virtue of a contract between the website owner and the third party).
