Gruppo Caviro has celebrated a milestone that marks a turning point in the history of Italian agricultural cooperation: sixty years of activity, sixty years of growth, sustainability, and shared vision. The event, hosted at the Forlì facility, brought together the cooperative’s members from eight Italian regions, along with representatives from national and local institutions and the wider cooperative community.
Founded in 1966, Caviro is now the largest winery in Italy and an international benchmark. With a turnover of 351 million euros, a membership base of 11,500 winegrowers and 36,200 hectares of vineyards, the cooperative leads the domestic market and reaches 90 foreign markets, confirming the strength of a model that blends industrial efficiency, local roots, and strategic vision.
With a model capable of coordinating a complex supply chain and generating value for the entire national agricultural system, the Group operates across the full value pyramid of Italian wine: from the offerings of Cantine Caviro, which makes quality accessible to millions of consumers every day, to the Tenute Caviro division, which brings together premium brands and wineries representing iconic territories such as Tuscany and Veneto, including Leonardo da Vinci and Gerardo Cesari. Two complementary souls united by the cooperative model, which combines territorial identity, industrial efficiency, and a strong international market presence.
During the celebration, President Carlo Dalmonte emphasized the importance of the members’ role in the Group’s growth:“For sixty years we have been committed to enhancing the work of our members, with the goal of ensuring their competitiveness and profitability. That is why we celebrate together: our journey is made of people who innovate while staying true to their roots. ”
Caviro continues to stand out for its ability to transform waste into resources, creating a circular economy model that is unique in Italy. Through the regeneration of by-products from the agri-food supply chain and plant waste, the Group produces renewable energy, natural fertilizers, and ingredients destined for the food, cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and industrial sectors. A system that closes the loop “from vineyard to vineyard,” reducing environmental impact and giving value back to the land.
The 60th anniversary represents not only a milestone but also a new starting point. As President Dalmonte recalled, the Group’s commitment will continue to focus on sustainability, competitiveness, and innovation, with increasing attention to foreign markets and emerging segments, including low-alcohol wines.
Caviro enters its seventh decade with full awareness of the path it has taken and the ambition to continue building—together with its members—a future in which quality, cooperation, and responsibility remain the pillars of its identity.
