Circular economy,
our model creates value
Environmental protection is the fundamental mission of our group. In recent years we have invested over 100 million euros to structure a new circular economy model, one of the most important case histories in Europe. Every day we work to preserve the value of natural resources. The recycling and regeneration of products and materials allow us to reduce the use of raw materials and energy at source. Thanks to this approach, we meet the needs of today’s generations, without compromising the possibilities of those to come. More than a virtuous cycle: our model is a testimonial that unites the present and the future.
Wine
It represents the union of 29 member wineries and over 50 wine-makers who work together every year to guarantee a high standard of quality and a wide selection of unique, award-winning wines on the Italian and international scene.
Supply chain derivatives
From the processing of wine, tons of raw materials are obtained, such as lees, marc and grape seeds, ready to be transformed into ingredients and products with high added value.
Noble products
Through technological and processing competence, alcohols, must, and extracts, as well as tartaric acid are obtained, which become new raw material for agronomic, industrial, pharmaceutical, food and beverage companies all over the world.
Vegetative waste
The partnership with Herambiente allows the collection of mowings, prunings and other waste from the territory to produce energy, electricity and heat, from renewable sources, making the Group self-sufficient.
Bioenergy and compost
Thanks to the anaerobic digestion plants, which process wine-making by-products and waste water from Italian agro-food companies, biogas and biomethane are generated.
Natural fertilizers
The last elements of the virtuous cycle are the sludges and soil improvers obtained from anaerobic digestion which, when used in agriculture as natural fertilizers, return to enrich the vineyards from which everything began with new organic substances.
Vineyards
It all began in the over 36,000 hectares of vineyards in 7 Italian regions where each land, with its own characteristics of exposure, climate and cultivation method, tells a different story and expresses its maximum value.
Grapes
The grapes are cared for and meticulously collected by the 12,400 grape growers who, at each harvest, confer their harvests to the relevant wineries, guaranteeing their adherence to a traced and integrated supply chain.

Social sustainability
Wellbeing is passed on through the care and respect for the places that host us. Every single gesture makes a difference. Working in harmony with nature means respecting the environmental balance, trying to maintain it and, where possible, to enrich it. Our work comes from the earth, and protects its resources thanks to the reduction of water consumption and climate-changing emissions, and through the production of renewable energies.
Togheter with the UN
for sustainable development
Respect for the environment, the promotion of the safety and well-being of employees and consumers, and the adoption of sustainable and circular production models are fundamental themes for our Group. Every day, we dedicate energy and resources in line with the goals outlined by the UN in the 2030 Agenda for sustainable development of our planet. Here are the 7 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on which we exercise concrete action, through tangible and wide-ranging initiatives and projects.

A new business value
We are economically sustainable because our financial statements reflect solidity and allow long-term projects. We are socially sustainable because the effects of our financial statements have a positive effect on the whole community. We are sustainable from an environmental point of view because our concrete commitment to the circular economy leads to clear benefits in the area. The value of a company today is measured not only with the classic economic and financial indicators, but increasingly with its benefits on the territory and in the context in which it operates: for this reason, we are proud to present you the first sustainability report of the Caviro Group.
Here, sustainability is not a trend
We have always been attentive to the well-being of our consumers and respect for the territory that hosts us. Our commitment is evidenced by the certifications obtained over the years, in the field of food safety, safety and health in the workplace, environment, quality, social responsibility and pharmaceutical applications.

INNESTI (powered by CAVIRO) is an e-magazine which showcases ideas with the potential to lead us forward to an environmentally-aware future.
Inside you’ll find news about people and places, projects and research, good practice and industry trends. But INNESTI also celebrates our commitment to creating something that doesn’t yet exist.
History as a whole, in all its complexity, is made of an infinity of micro-narratives whose strength resides in their ability to elicit a sense of identification and closeness to our own stories and lives.
INNESTI examines a few of these stories, each a strand in a bigger story.
